Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a psychodynamic therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead the life you want. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand your past, re-frame events and experiences in a more useful way, and resolve current challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth and examine long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, you´re experiencing long-term difficulties, or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals.
About me: I received my master´s degree in counselling from Boston University in 1989. Before establishing my private practice in Madrid, I gained valuable experience working at the San Fernando Valley Clinic for the Homeless Mentally Ill, Venice Beach Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence, the International College Spain, and the Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus.
I believe being a first (and last) generation U.S. citizen, both my parents having successfully fled Europe during and after WWII, as well as my having raised a daughter with a Spanish father here in Madrid, have all provided me with an especially rich perspective not only on the expat experience, but also the universal challenges we all face building our identities and negotiating the ups and downs of life.
I am a member in good standing of the American Counseling Association.
I look forward to meeting you, listening to your concerns, and helping you find the best way for you to move forward.
